Preparing for your Password English exam

You will be invigilated throughout your Password English Test by ProctorU (https://www.proctoru.com/).

ProctorU is a live online service that allows you to take your exam from the comfort of your home. ProctorU is available 24/7, however, you will need to book your session at least 5 days in advance.

Creating a ProctorU account

On the day of your exam, you will meet with your invigilator/proctor and they will take you through the security checks and release your test. Follow these steps before you take your test, to make sure your test runs smoothly. 


Step 1: Check your computer is set up for ProctorU 

In order to use ProctorU, you will need a high-speed internet connection, a webcam (internal or external), a headset and microphone. You will also need the ProctorU extension installed onto your browser: 

ProctorU recommends that you visit this site before your exam to check your equipment:  https://test-it-out.proctoru.com/ 


If you have pop-up blockers running, make sure these are allowed for this site and Flash is enabled:

Step 2: Register for your test 

Your centre will give you one link to book your exam. Click on the link and book your session. 

Choose your correct time zone. Remember that AM means morning (between midnight and midday) and PM is afternoon or evening (after midday until midnight).

You will be prompted to create an account with ProctorU the first time you log in:

Step 3: Create an account with ProctorU Creating an account is easy. The link will direct you to https://go.proctoru.com/registrations

  1. Select appropriate user role: Test Taker 
  2. You will need to select your institution which is INTO University Partnerships. 
  3. Complete your personal details: Make sure these are accurate and as they appear on the photo ID (passport) you will need to show on the test day. 
  4. Accept ProctorU terms and conditions.. including privacy policy. 
  5. You will complete GDPR acknowledgements before continuing.

Please Note: If you have been proctored with ProctorU before during another test, you do not need to create a new account. You can add INTO University Partnerships to your existing account. If this applies to you please carry out these steps:

1. Log in to your account:


2. Then click on "Enrolments" under the menu on the right:

3. Then click the "Add Enrolment" button:
4. Select INTO University Partnerships from the dropdown, and then clicking "Update Account.":
